Packet Island's PacketSmart is a next-gen network lifecycle management platform for converged media (voice+video+data) networks. Unlike traditional network management platforms that use a centralized SNMP-based polling paradigm, PacketSmart uses distributed media generation and Deep-Packet-Inspection (DPI) technology to manage the entire lifecycle of a converged media network. The lifecycle management approach goes beyond simple monitoring by facilitating the design, deployment, and SLA management of distributed converged media networks.
The PacketSmart Solution consists of three components:

The solution is suited for the following customers:1. Managed Service Providers (MSPs) who offer network and IT outsourcing to large multi-site enterprise customers
2. VoIP service providers and wholesalers who offer converged media services to SMB customers
3. System Integrators who need to offer solutions based on fully-managed converged media networks
4. Medium to large enteprises who need to centrally manage the quality of their VoIP service delivery across hundreds or thousands of sites
5. Multi-site VoIP-based call centers with a need to monitor the VoIP SLA of their inter-site links
PacketSmart is available in two flavors:
PacketSmart for Multi-site Enterprises:This is a rack-mountable solution that enables multi-site enterprises with hundreds or thousands of branch offices to centrally manage their converged media networks
PacketSmart for MSPs:This is a highly scalable multi-tier deployment of PacketSmart that is targeted at service providers. This platform is capable of managing thousands or hundreds of thousands of small office networks using a centralized infrastructure
